If you are looking for a car accident lawyer in Conyers, GA, Slam Dunk Attorney represents people hurt in car crashes across metro Atlanta and Georgia. The firm is based in Duluth, Georgia, and offers a free, confidential first consultation. Georgia law generally allows two years to file an injury lawsuit, counted from when the right of action accrues, so calling early gives you more time to decide your next step (O.C.G.A. § 9-3-33; Kenneth B. Cameron v. Jmp Pizza, Inc (2026)).
Car Accident Representation From Our Duluth Office
Slam Dunk Attorney is a personal injury firm based in Duluth, Georgia, that represents people hurt in car accidents. The firm serves drivers, passengers, and others injured on the road across metro Atlanta and Georgia, including Conyers.
After a crash, medical bills, missed work, a damaged vehicle, and calls from insurance adjusters can all arrive at once. Our team explains the claim process in plain language so you know what comes next.
Our scope also covers truck, motorcycle, pedestrian, and rideshare crashes. Rideshare claims follow special insurance rules. Georgia requires a transportation network company to carry primary coverage, and the required minimums change by period. In one period, the minimum is $1 million per occurrence for death, personal injury, and property damage (O.C.G.A. § 33-1-24).
Our lawyers, Peter F. Jaraysi and Brian D. Wright, handle these matters with support from assistants and office staff.
If a crash left you hurt and you're now dealing with bills and insurance calls, you may have a claim worth reviewing, and our team can go over it with you for free. Talk it through with our team — the first consultation is free, confidential, and carries no obligation.

Types of Car Crashes and Injuries We Handle
Rear-end, intersection, lane-change, and impaired-driver crashes are among the car crashes we handle.
- Rear-end collisions, often in stop-and-go traffic
- Intersection and left-turn crashes
- Lane-change and sideswipe crashes
- Crashes caused by distracted or impaired drivers
Common injuries include whiplash and other soft-tissue injuries, herniated discs, fractures, and head injuries. Some injuries are catastrophic. These include spinal cord injury with paralysis, traumatic brain injury, amputation, and severe burns. These claims often need longer medical follow-up before the full picture is clear.
Georgia’s roads carry real risk. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety reports 1,403 motor-vehicle crash deaths in Georgia in 2024. When a death results from a crime or from criminal or other negligence, the personal representative is entitled to recover funeral, medical, and other necessary expenses (O.C.G.A. § 51-4-5). Slam Dunk Attorney also handles wrongful death matters.
How Georgia Fault Rules Affect Your Claim
Georgia reduces your compensation by your share of fault, and you recover nothing if you are 50 percent or more responsible. Under O.C.G.A. § 51-12-33, a judge reduces damages in proportion to your percentage of fault. Under O.C.G.A. § 51-12-33, when the plaintiff is to some degree responsible for the injury or damages claimed, the judge shall reduce the amount of damages otherwise awarded to the plaintiff in proportion to the plaintiff’s percentage of fault (O.C.G.A. § 51-12-33). A plaintiff who is 50 percent or more responsible recovers no damages.
Each at-fault party pays only its own share, not a joint amount. That includes people who were never named in the lawsuit.
Evidence drives the fault question. Police reports, photos of the scene and vehicles, witness statements, and medical records that tie your injuries to the crash all matter.
Insurance also shapes what’s available. The Georgia Commissioner of Insurance explains required auto liability coverage, minimum limits, and at-fault liability coverage. That coverage pays the insured for bodily injury caused by an uninsured owner or operator, and the insured can choose limits within the statute’s options. O.C.G.A. § 33-7-11 reads: “(a)(1) No automobile liability policy or motor vehicle liability policy shall be issued or delivered in this state to the owner of such vehicle or shall be issued or delivered by any insurer licensed in this state upon any motor vehicle then principally garaged or principally used in this state unless it contains an endorsement or provisions undertaking to pay the insured damages for bodily injury, loss of consortium or death of an insured, or for injury to or destruction of property of an insured under the named insured’s policy sustained from the owner or operator of an uninsured motor vehicle, within limits exclusive of interests and costs which at the option of the insured shall be.”
What to Expect: Step-by-Step After You Call
After you call, the firm starts with a free first consultation. Then it investigates, documents your losses, negotiates with the insurer, and discusses a lawsuit if needed.
- Free first consultation. This review is confidential and carries no obligation to continue. We go over the crash, your injuries, and your insurance information.
- Investigation. We gather the police report, medical records, photos, witness details, and the at-fault driver’s insurance information.
- Medical documentation. Follow your provider’s treatment plan, keep your records, and tell us about new symptoms. Georgia limits medical expenses to the reasonable value of medically necessary care (O.C.G.A. § 51-12-1.1).
- Claim and negotiation. We present your documented losses to the insurer and negotiate from that record.
- Lawsuit discussion. If a fair resolution isn’t reached, we talk through filing suit. Timelines vary from case to case.
Georgia generally requires an injury lawsuit within two years after the right of action accrues (O.C.G.A. § 9-3-33). Earlier contact helps protect your evidence and your time.

Your Questions About Car Accident Claims, Answered
Most car accident claims are made against the at-fault driver, and that driver’s liability insurance is typically involved.
Why am I being sued when I have insurance?
A lawsuit can name you even when you carry insurance. Your liability coverage is what responds to claims against you, so send any papers you receive to our team right away.
What is the average settlement for a car accident in Georgia?
A typical figure would not reflect your facts. Each claim turns on its own medical care, fault split, and insurance coverage, and we review those details in a free consultation.
How is the value of a settlement determined?
Medical bills, letters of protection, and case costs can all affect what you keep. Medical expenses are special damages, and they must be proved (O.C.G.A. § 51-12-2). Bring your bills and records to the consultation.
What should I ask when we talk?
Ask who will handle your case, how you will get updates, how costs are explained, and what the next steps look like.
Not sure what your next step is?
Talk it through with our team — the first consultation is free, confidential, and carries no obligation.
